The examination dates (offline examination) are 01 September 2023 and 12 October 2023.
Themes:

GREEN Olympiad examination addresses a range of topics such as
water, waste, energy, air, biodiversity, climate change, sustainable
development, culture, green skills, and other contemporary issues
related to environment and sustainable development

Mode of Examination:Offline (Paper based)

Students from classes 4 – 12 can participate in this Olympiad through four levels (Level 1 –
Std. 4 & 5; Level 2 – Std. 6 – 8, Level 3 – Std. 9 & 10, Level 4 – Std. 11 & 12)

The registration fee for GREEN Olympiad examination is Rs 200/- per registered participant

Green Olympiad 2020

GREEN Olympiad is being organized annually by TERI since 1999. This is an environment examination that test environment consciousness and analytical skills of students. The ultimate goal of the project is to create an environmentally sentient, informed school network. This programme has received support from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), UNESCO Global Action Programme on Education for Sustainable Development, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), Bhatratiya Vidya Bhavan, and other educational boards / trusts over the years. GREEN Olympiad is also endorsed by UNESCO, New Delhi.
Due to Covid 19 Pandemic, GREEN Olympiad 2020 will be held ONLINE on 26 November and 17 December 2020. We encourage schools as well as students (individual) to register for the examination and be part of this unique environment initiative.

Please read the following instructions carefully before filling the form:

• GREEN Olympiad is an examination comprising of objective type questions that gauge the level of environment awareness amongst students. Issues related to water, waste, energy, air, agriculture, urban landscapes, biodiversity, health, climate change, and sustainable development are included in this examination.
• Schools affiliated to a recognized education board/trust can register for this Olympiad. Individual registrations from students will also be accepted. Students from Standard IV – XII can appear for this Olympiad through the following levels:
  ● Level 1 – Std. IV & V
  ● Level 2 – Std. VI, VII & VIII
  ● Level 3 – Std. IX & X
  ● Level 4 – Std. XI & XII
• For each level mentioned above, schools can nominate any number of students as they wish.
• Examination will be conducted through online mode. Computer/Laptop/Mobile Phone with high speed internet facility should be available with students to appear for online examination.
• Duration of the examination is only 60 minutes, and the language will be in English.
• Schools/students who wish to register for the examination should choose a convenient date from the application form. Schools should choose only one date for all participants. Username and password will be issued to each applicant/school so as to take the examination from anywhere at their convenience. However, applicants can appear only on the designated date, which cannot be changed at any circumstances.
• Payment Mode:
  • For Schools: After filling and submitting your application, the page will automatically take you to the payment gateway page. Each participating student has to pay a fee of Rs. 75/- to his/her school. After deducting Rs. 5/- per student (towards expenditure for coordinating the online examination at school level), school has to pay total registration fee (i. e. Rs. 70/- × number of participating students in all levels) through any available mode of online transaction
  • For Individual Students: After filling and submitting your application, the page will automatically take you to the payment gateway page, where the applicant has to pay registration fees of INR 75/- (non-refundable) through any available mode of online transaction.
  • A system generated receipt will be sent to the registered e-mail id on successful completion of application; but subject to realization of payment.
  • Results will be available online and schools/students are requested to check the project website for regular updates. All students will receive certificate of participation/ merit/ or distinction based on their performance. Teacher Coordinators (applicable for school registration only) will also receive certificate of appreciation.

CBSE-TERI GREEN OLYMPIAD-2016

The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) has been conducting the GREEN Olympiad project in India and abroad for students and addresses the need for networking among schools. TERI’s effort aligns well with the current school curriculum of CBSE. Participation in the GREEN Olympiad is an excellent opportunity for students to test their Environmental Quotient and enhance their appreciation of their environment.

About the Olympiad: Ø Conducted by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi Ø Students of classes IV to X can participate as per the following levels:

Level 1 (for students from classes IV and V)

Level 2 (for students from classes VI, VII and VIII)

Level 3 (for students from classes IX and X) Ø Questions are woven around environmental issues, with direct linkage to the school curriculum, which assesses environment-related sensitivity of the students.
