National Aptitude Test in Architecture :NATA 2019

What is NATA?

The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) measures the aptitude of the applicant for specific field of study, i.e. Architecture. The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability that have been acquired over a long period of time, and that are related to specific field of study, i.e. Architecture

National Aptitude Test in Architecture(NATA)23019 FOR Admission into  1ST Year  of 5 Year B.Arch Degree Course at various institution in India for the academic session 2019-20 shall be conducted by the council TWICE .First test on 14th April,2019 and second on 7th July2019 at the various designated centres all over India

 FIRST 60 minutes (one hour)-Part A (ONLINE) TOTAL 120 Marks Mathematics (MCQ) 20 Questions X 2marks each = 40 Marks General Aptitude (MCQ ) 40 Questions X 2marks each = 80 Marks

 

LAST 120 minutes (two hours) –Part-B TOTAL 80 Marks Drawings in A4 Size paper 2 Questions X 40 marks each = 80 Marks

Second Examination:  
07.07.2019 (Sunday) 10.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. 11.15 a.m. to 1.15 p.m. (Grand Total of 200 marks) FIRST 60 minutes (one hour)-Part A (ONLINE) TOTAL 120 Marks Mathematics (MCQ) 20 Questions X 2marks each = 40 Marks General Aptitude (MCQ ) 40 Questions X 2marks each = 80 Marks

 

LAST 120 minutes (two hours) –Part-B TOTAL 80 Marks Drawings in A4 Size paper 2 Questions X 40 marks each = 80 Marks

Taking NATA-2019 Candidates may come from the following backgrounds:

  • Passed 10+2 scheme of examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level examination; (those appearing the 10+2 exam with PCM subjects in the current year may also provisionally appear in the exam, however, their result in NATA-2019 will be declared valid subject to fulfilling the above criteria).

National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is being conducted by the Council of Architecture, being the competent & final authority for the purpose of fixing norms and standards for architectural institutions and having the necessary expertise to hold a Common Aptitude Test in Architecture, at national level to provide a single window system for appearing in aptitude test and to facilitate institutions, students and public at large for admission to First year of 5 year B.Arch Degree Course at all recognized Institutions all over country.

WHAT IS NATA?

The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) measures the aptitude of the applicant for specific field of study, i.e. Architecture. The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability that have been acquired over a long period of time, and that are related to specific field of study, i.e. Architecture

ELIGIBILITY :Any person having passed SSC (Std X) or equivalent examination and above can appear for NATA. However, only candidates who have qualified an aptitude test in Architecture and have secured 50% marks in NATA  or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects, shall be eligible for admission to B.Arch. Course. No direct lateral admission is allowed at any year/stage of B.Arch. course based on any qualification. NATA score shall be valid for a period of two years from the year in which one appeared.
