KVS Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad – 201.8

The Mathematical Olympiad Programme in India which leads to participation of Indian students in the International Mathematical Olympiad is organised by Homi Bhaba Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), Mumbai on behalf of the National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM), and Department of Atomic Energy with a purpose to spot Mathematical talent among Pre University of the country.

In this course of action, Homi Bhaba Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) has notified Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad 2018 on its website.

The main features are as under:

,

  1.  The date of examination August 19, 2018 between 10:00 AM to 1: 00 PM.
  2.  Eligibility: candidates born on or after August 1, 1999 and studying class Viii,

           IX, X, XI or XII are eligible to write PRMO 2018.

  1. PRMO will be a machine- correctable 3 hour duration test of 30 questions.  Each question has an answer which is a number with one or two digits.

  1.  The registration fee for students of Kendriya Vidyalaya is RS 125 only for each student.
  2. All Kendriva Vidylayas have to register as registration centres from 1st June to 15” June, 2018
  3. Students may register upto 30 June for PRMO, 2018.
  4. Kendirya Vidyalayas will be examination centres.
  5. Top 5% of students” from class VIII, iX, X1 XI and 1% students from class XIIwill be selected for Regional Mathematical Olympiad. KVS has to conduct a camp-for students before Regional Mathematical Olympiad.

HOW TO APPLY Candidates are required to apply online by using the website upsconline.nic.in Brief instructions for filling up the online Application Form have been given in the Appendix-II. Detailed instructions are available on the above mentioned website.

 

Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status : Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 02nd January, 2000 and not later than 1 st January, 2003 are eligible

 

  1. c) Educational Qualifications:

(i) For Army Wing of National Defence Academy :—12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

(ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy :—12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.
